One of the great things about Pixar is that they have taken a very techincally driven artform and painted something beautiful on that canvas. So in this episode, TJ and Tim go back to 2004 to discuss one of the earlier films in Pixar’s repertoire — one that brings delight, humor, and the human aspect to digital animation: The Increbiles

Television is bringing us some of the best cinematic entertainment these days, and we’re all nerds and geeks here of course, so for our second installment in the 2016 TV Season premier, TJ gets some help from even more of his friends to talk about the beginning of Arrow Season 5 with Lisa Cooper, The Flash Season 3 with Tim Smith, and Agents of Shield Season 4 Chad Hopkins.

TJ gets a little help from his friends to discuss the season premiers of 3 shows: newcomer show Frequency with Eric Scull, the season 3 premier of Gotham with Alexis Johnson, and the Season 2 premier of Supergirl with Gene Goseweher.

Joe Darnell is joined by our friend and special guest Chad Hopkins to review ‘The Magnificent Seven’, directed by Antoine Fuqua. Like other modern Western remakes ‘True Grit’ and ‘3:10 to Yuma’, a star-infused gunslinging adventure packs lots of thrills. Maybe lite on realism? Doesn’t matter, it makes up for it in old-fashioned heroics and horseback rides.

TJ and Joe have now seen the entirety of season one and they have feelings and thoughts to share. While in the first episode they focused a lot of the details, the look and feel of the show, the setting, and such, this installment is much more about focusing on the story and what they liked and didn’t like.

TJ and Joe discuss the incredibly well done Netflix Series ‘Stranger Things’. In this episode of Retake, they focus on Episodes 1–4 of the show, noting the 80s vibe and the nostalgia that brings with it, and the general praise the show deserves.

In this inaugural episode, TJ is joined by Tim Smith to talk about the best Star Wars film to come out in a long time, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. Spoiler alert, like every other nerd in the universe, they were pleasantly surprised to love it very much!
